Three-time All-Delco guard Megan McGurk of Academy of Notre Dame scored her 1,000th point Sunday.
McGurk erupted for 33 points — a career-high and that tied the school’s single-game record — as the Irish rallied for a 58-56 victory over Spring-Ford at the Blue Chip Classic Tip-Off at Archbishop Carroll. McGurk sank two free throws with 2.9 seconds left to give ND its first lead of the game and eventually the win.
Bound for Bucknell University, McGurk is the 10th player in Notre Dame history to score 1,000 points.
McGurk will be honored in a pregame ceremony before the Irish host Agnes Irwin Tuesday at 5:45.
